Desert Rose is located in the dusty state of Phoenix, Arizona. We strive to breed the most elegant show dogs, and the most verisitile working dogs.
Our main focuses are our Wiltshire Spaniels, Standard Poodles, and Catahoula Leopard Dogs, though we also have a few other dogs of varying breeds as well.

The Arenas
1. Indoor arena
An arena for sports. Most events are held here during summer, as the outdoor arena is often too hot or too dusty for much activity.

2. Supply room
As the name suggests, this area holds various equipment needed for our indoor and outdoor arenas, as well as our pool area.

3. Outdoor arena
Our outdoor area, though not as often used, is functional as well. Most sports held here will be during the fall through spring months.

4. Pool
All sports involving water are held here. From doggy pool parties in summer to dock diving trials, we can do it all. There is a fence around the area so the dogs have room to roam if need be, though any visiting dogs must be up to date on vaccines and under control of their handler(s) at all times.

The Kennels & Care Area
5. Whelping/Puppy Kennel (Run Attached)
The whelping kennel is reserved for expecting mothers, newly whelped puppies, and dogs under 6 months of age. Most pups are moved to the main kennel at 4 months old, but some have been known to stay at the whelping kennel as long as 6 months before being integrated. There is a large run attached to the kennel for any dog who wants to and is able to go out and get some fresh air. Puppies under 8 weeks of age are not allowed in the yard, and puppies under 16 weeks of age must be supervised any time they are outside.

6. Adult Kennel (Run Attached)
The adult kennel is also known as our main kennel. All adults who aren't expecting can be found here, except for those who are in quarantine. There is a large run attached to this kennel as well, so the dogs may get excersize and socialization/playtime each day. New dogs must be supervised if let out with any group of other dogs. Dogs under one year old should be let out separately from those above such age.

7. Community Play Yard

The community play yard is a group yard open to both our dogs and guests. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines, friendly to other dogs, and supervised/under the control of their handlers at all times. Dogs under 3 months of age are not allowed in the play yard. Dogs 3-6 months are only allowed with dogs their own age, or dogs that have proved themselves good with small animals/puppies.

8. Grooming Suite

Our grooming suite is reserved for those needing baths and haircuts. While the kennels do have a tub, this building has a more extensive setup, and caters to those needing shaved/trimmed for working or conformation clips. Guests are welcome to use the grooming suite in preparation for upcoming events, but must bring their own supplies(shampoos, clippers, etc). The only supplies provided by Desert Rose are the tubs, dryers, and tables.

9. Quarantine/vet office

The quarantine/vet office is where all new dogs come their first days at Desert Rose. Here they are examined by our on-site veterinarian, and temperment tested to make sure they'll suit the lifestyle of our own dogs. Dogs showing agression may need to stay in the quarantine area until their habits are rehabilitated or the dog is rehomed(in failed cases). All dogs must stay in the quarantine area a minimum of 5 days before moving to the main kennel, and 7 days before moving to the whelping/puppy kennel.

Staff/Guest Areas
10. Main house

The main house is where the kennel owner and her related family live. Long-term staff members may also live in the main house if they choose to do so, but most prefer to stay in the staff house. The main house is equipped with all your essentials. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, as well as a large kitchen, dining room, and living room. It also has an open floor plan, so the only rooms with locking doors are the bedrooms and bathrooms

11. Storage shed

This storage shed houses all the staff equipment. From lawn/yard care equipment to bicycles and fourwheelers. This shed is locked, though all trusted staff members have the key to the sheds and the two fourwheelers inside. Staff members must always carry a phone on them in case of emergency, and must never take the fourwheelers off property unless given prior permission.

12. Staff housing

The staff housing is where all unrelated staff stay. Unlike some facilities that have separate staff appartments, the building is set up similarly to the main house. Staff members have their own bedrooms and every two rooms share a bathroom. There is a common room and a small kitchen/dining area, though staff members are invited to eat dinner together at the main house most nights of the week. Staff members who would prefer not to share housing may live off-site, but must pay for their own housing, as it's their personal choice to live alone.

13. Guest suites with attached courtyard

Our guest suites are set up to give each guest their privacy while also allowing them to interact with each other if they so choose. Each suite has two rooms, a small kitchen/dining area, and a shared bathroom. Guests are invited to use the fenced courtyard to excercise their dogs, and are invited to the main office's lounge to hang out if every they would like to. Dogs may acompany their handlers anywhere on the facility aside from the kennels, which are reserved for our own dogs only. Dogs must always be on leash when not in a fenced area or their own suites.

14. Main office

The main office is where guests sign in and register for any events. The office has a room dedicated to paperwork for the facility and it's events, as well as a bathroom and lounge area for guests. The common room is equip with a television, a few gaming system, and books and magazines to read. There is also a gated area for any dogs brought into the area who wish to be off-leash, though any accidents must be cleaned up promptly by the handler supervising the dog.

15. Parking lot
The parking lot has spaces reserved for the staff living on the facility, as well as for those staying in the guest houses. All other space is open to visitors, be they friends, family, or spectators for shows and events.
